Committees

Providing opportunities for professional growth and involvement is essential to our functionality. Members are welcomed to join committees or commissions led by the Board of Directors. Joining a committee or commission allows for professionals in higher education to have a macro level impact across the state.

Committees

Annual State Conference Committee

Led by: Deanna Kowaleski

The Annual State Conference Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the Florida Chapter’s signature professional development event. This committee works collaboratively to secure keynote speakers, develop engaging session tracks, coordinate logistics, and create meaningful networking opportunities for higher education professionals across the state. Joining this committee offers a chance to help shape one of the most impactful experiences ACPA Florida offers each year.

Equity & Inclusion Committee

Led by: Francine Coker

The Equity & Inclusion Committee leads efforts to embed inclusive practices, diverse perspectives, and equitable frameworks across all chapter initiatives. This committee supports the development of culturally responsive programming, advocates for marginalized voices, and helps ensure our chapter lives out its commitment to social justice in higher education. Committee members have opportunities to co-create DEI-centered events and consult on organizational strategy.

Social Media and Communications Committee

Led by: Jiayu Wang
The Social Media and Communications Committee amplifies the chapter’s visibility and engagement through strategic digital storytelling. This committee manages content across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and the chapter website, ensuring that members stay informed about events, opportunities, and chapter news. The team also supports branding, design, and messaging that aligns with ACPA Florida’s mission and values.

Webinars and Resources Committee

Led by: Deanna Kowaleski
The Webinars and Resources Committee curates and delivers virtual learning experiences tailored to the needs of our membership. This includes organizing timely and relevant webinars, developing resource libraries, and collaborating with professionals across the state to share best practices. Members of this committee help shape the educational offerings of the chapter while expanding access to professional development statewide.
